Overview of wlshell

wlshell is a scripting shell to manage Java applications. It supports Java application using JMX technology.

wlshell can be used to manage J2EE Application Servers (like BEA WebLogic Server), servlet containers and, in general, any Java application that uses standard JMX MBeans for configuration and monitoring.

wlshell main features are:

  • easy to use scripting language to access JMX MBeans
  • supports Java SE and MX4J JMX 1.2 implementations
  • supports BEA WebLogic Server versions 6 through 10
  • TELNET JMX adaptor to access remote MBeans using a TELNET client
  • interactive and batch mode operation
  • graphical explorer and attribute monitor
  • multiplatform (Windows, Unix and MacOS)

wlshell is not a BEA-supported feature of BEA WebLogic Server but is used by many System Administrators as a valuable tool.
